A traditional Easter sponge cake from the Alsace region of France and Germany, baked in the shape of a lamb and lightly dusted with powdered sugar.
In my family, my grandmother Nany baked these lamb cakes every Easter morning. Each grandchild received their own lamb cake — a sweet symbol of spring, renewal, and celebration.
This year I’m honored to continue this tradition through Nany’s Crust & Crumb and share it with your Easter table.
